Mesopotamia Merino Garments

We have developed a selected range of 100% pure Merino garments for use in the town or out on the hills.

The garments were designed by the farm staff and the first garments were made at the kitchen table by our tractor driver and indeed she still produces the merino hats!

Both the design and the colours are specifically chosen to reflect the New Zealand high country-Deep forest green, black, tan and slate grey.

There are two styles of jersey available: A long sleeve quarter zip, and a short sleeve T. Both of which are designed as unisex garments at present only available in Deep Forest Green and Black.

The Mesopotamia Merino Hats are double layered, comfortable and extremely warm and come in a range of colours: Deep Forest Green, Tan, Slate Grey, Black, Red and Burgundy.

Why Merino?

Merino garments are extremely warm and lightweight and are designed to be worn in a number of layers to trap the warm insulating air between each garment.

A big advantage of merino over fleece/nylon garments is that they still remain warm even when damp or wet thus making them ideal for hunting, climbing, hiking etc. Being a natural fibre, merino garments do not give off the offensive odour that fleece/nylon can when worn for longer periods.

 

Finally and probably one of the greatest features is that merino garments are safer near fire and do not melt like fleece/nylon when exposed to naked flame.
